My wife and I have three kids, all born here in Los Angeles. Two of them have already left for college out of state. When they’re ready, we want them to come back, to live, work, and build their lives here.
But for that to happen, Los Angeles has to be a place they want to live and a place they can afford to live.
When I was younger, I took everything I had saved from working and bought a one-way, around-the-world plane ticket. I lived on less than ten dollars a day and saw many of the world’s great cities.
None of them came close to Los Angeles.
Today, Los Angeles is facing real challenges. Housing is unaffordable for too many families. Homelessness remains unresolved. Wildfires threaten our communities.
Our city has gotten dirtier. Core industries have been moving away. Taxes are higher, but government services feel less effective. And too many people don’t feel as safe as they should.
We can do better.
Many people running for office are well intentioned. But intention is not the same as impact.
To fix this city — to restore opportunity, safety, and trust — we need a real plan and leadership with the ability to execute it. I have that plan. I have the experience to deliver. And I’m ready to do the work.
