Over 70,000 people are living on our streets. We've spent over $10 billion in the last decade and the problem has only gotten worse. There is no unified strategy — just duplication, waste, and failure. Since 2016, the homeless population has grown by 72%.
We need a holistic solution to a complex problem. That means prioritizing eviction prevention, optimizing our interim housing infrastructure, and innovating on services to get people off the streets — even as we build net new affordable housing. Solving homelessness is inseparable from making rent more affordable and creating economic mobility for all Angelenos.
Adam Miller co-founded Better Angels to end the epidemic of homelessness in LA through innovation, bold thinking, and a strong dose of pragmatism. In just two years, the organization has kept thousands of Angelenos off the streets and provided direct support to over 10,000 unhoused individuals.
